To plan or not to plan? That is the question!

The festive season has come and gone and is now all but a distant memory.  It’s January, the start of a new year.  Are you feeling refreshed and raring to go?  Have you used the break to come up with an action plan or goals for your business?  Are they realistic?  Or is it a case of all guns blazing in January and then by March all your best intentions have fizzled out?  I’ve never been a fan of so-called resolutions.  I much prefer to forward plan and set myself some manageable goals for the year ahead.  It seems to have more accountability attached to it and is a lot more likely that I’ll stick to it!

I find that Christmas is an ideal time to think about and prepare a plan for my own business.  It’s probably really the only time that most, if not all, of my clients are taking a break at the same time. It’s great to finally get the chance to focus some time on where my business is heading.  Am I on the right path.  What are my goals for the year?  Where do I want to be in 3 months/6 months a year’s time?  Are my rates still valid or do they need revising?  Am I still heading in the direction I want to go in or do I need to look again at what I’m offering or not offering?  Do I want to expand further this year or am I happy with my lot?

It really is a great time to crack out that spanking new diary and planner you got for Christmas and get planning.  I know I am.  Are you?
