Is it finally here? Is that lovely yellow ball in the sky gracing us with its presence at last? I don’t know about you but spring seems to have been a long time coming this year. Much as I love a bright, crisp, frosty wintery morning with a chance to grab my coat and wellies and take my beloved dog on a ‘blow the cobwebs away’ walk, I much prefer spring.
It’s nature’s way of waking us up from our winter slumber. A chance to gather our thoughts and plough ahead with our plans for the new financial year. The clocks have finally gone forward. It’s such a small thing but it just seems to make us all feel more alive, those few hours more of daylight; no longer having to get up in the dark and come home from work in the dark, although being virtual of course I don’t have to go very far – just a short walk across the landing for me.
Moods always seem to be so much lighter in the warmer months. We all seem to have a renewed energy and much more enthusiasm, especially for our businesses. It’s a great time for reflection. What’s worked and what hasn’t? What lessons have been learned? Why not revisit your business plan and see whether you’ve reached your goals and targets? If you don’t have a business plan, spring and of course the new tax year, is a great time to write one. Make the most of the vibrancy of spring. It doesn’t have to be long or indeed that detailed, unless you want it to be. It can be as simple as where you want to be in 3 months/6 months/a year. How many clients you want to have? How much you want to be earning? It just gives us that bit of extra focus and a target to aim for!
I’d love to hear your goals and ambitions for the new financial year. Perhaps we can check back this time next year to see if we’ve all achieved them. I’ll post mine below when I’ve thought of some of my own!!!
